From Inner Critic to Inner Director · Christina Millet

Most of us know the Inner Critic — the voice that comments on what we do and tells us what we should have done differently. Christina Millet asks what happens if the goal is not to silence it, but to re-educate it.
**Key points**
→ The Inner Critic usually developed early, to protect us from rejection or failure. It may need re-education rather than removal.
→ The Inner Theatre holds many roles besides the Critic; the aim is a richer, more flexible cast, not a single villain to expel.
→ The Inner Director listens to every role, sets limits, and can help even a punitive Critic mature into something more constructive.
Christina Millet is a psychodrama, creative arts and group therapist in the Netherlands, working in specialist mental health care since 1989. She developed the ten-session group training *Learning to Deal with the Inner Critic*.
